For all Juniors, new and old members, it’s time to start planning your July 2012 in LDYC !

If you have not done so already you will need to look at the Pathways document to see what course suits you best for this summer. Please speak to Claire or a member of the Junior Committee if you need help with this.

Once you have decided on a course, and booked in using the relevant application form (link here), you will need to start getting things together.

1) Boat
If you have already done the 2 week Start Sailing course then you should really invest in an ‘Oppi’. Depending on your budget you can spend anything from E200 – E1500 on a second hand one.
Have a look on iodai.com (link here), and the club noticeboard.

After the 4 week Improving Skills/Advanced Boat Handling/Go Racing 1 courses it will be time to upgrade to a bigger boat.

* There are club Picos available to rent for beginners.

All boats being used on the courses will be examined by an instructor and awarded a sticker when they are deemed fit to sail. You will not be allowed on the water without a sticker. This is primarily for your own safety.
