NOTICE OF RACE
25th – 26th September 2021
Rules
The event will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the ISA.
Venue
Lough Derg Yacht Club, Dromineer, Co Tipperary.
Eligibility and Entry
The event is open to all Junior LDYC members.
Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form on line at Lough Derg Yacht Club - Events (ldyc.ie).
Fees and Damage Costs
Entry fee is €10.
All competitors shall comply in full with the insurance and safety requirements of the LDYC. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of €1,500,000 per incident/event or the equivalent.
Equipment Accommodation and meals
Participants bring their own equipment
Club boats are available
No meals will be provided by the club on or off the water.
Risk Statement & Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors and support team participate in the championships entirely at their own risk and they are reminded of the provisions of RRS 3, Decision to Race. Sailing is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in the event, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that:
They are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for the exposure of themselves, their crew and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event;
They are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their boat and their other property whether afloat or ashore;
They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions;
By participating in any race, they are satisfied that their boat is in good order, complying with the class rules, is equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate; 6.1.5 The provision of a race management team, patrol boats, umpires and other officials and volunteers by the organiser does not relieve them of their own responsibilities;
The provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practically provided in the circumstances.
It is their responsibility to familiarize themselves with any risks specific to this venue or this event drawn to their attention in any rules and information produced for the venue/event and attend any venue/event safety briefings held for the event.
Media Right, Rights to Use Names and Likenesses
Competitors automatically grant to the organizing authority without payment the right to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of, or relating to the event. They also allow their names, age category, club and boat details to be displayed in competitors lists prior to the event and in results, on the LDYC website and in other publications.
Code of Conduct & Safety Regulations
Competitors shall wear appropriate personal flotation devices at all times.
Competitors shall comply with any reasonable request from Regatta Officials
Competitors shall handle club boats or equipment with proper care and seamanship.
OA may remove prizes in the case of mis conduct.
Advertising & Identification
Fleets and competitors will not be identified.

Notices to competitors will be posted on the official Notice Board located at Lough Derg Yacht Club, in the window on the western side of clubhouse

Sailing Instructions will be available to competitors at registration, and may, where possible, be posted on LDYC websites (www.ldyc.ie) one week in advance of the regatta.

The second and subsequent race(s) on each day will commence as soon as possible after the completion of the previous race.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, the race committee reserve the right to sail an extra race on either day of the regatta.

Jury, Support Boats and Personal
Jury boats may be on the water during the event. Details of this, if applicable, will be listed in Addendum B and at the event briefing. All Support Boats should register.
Prizes and prizegiving
Prize will be awarded with the discretion of the OA.

COVID-19 Controls
Please note that LDYC will operate in compliance with Government Guidelines and guidance from Irish Sailing regarding the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the Regatta.

We are discouraging the use of shower and changing facilities and if you choose to use them you do so at your own risk and should take your own measures to ensure your own safety.
Prize giving is planned as detailed in the NOR.
Diners are required to bring all their own utensils, delph, cutlery, glasses, napkins, etc. and bring them/rubbish home afterwards.
Bar – Subject to government guidelines which may change during the regatta.
If the bar is open, only alcohol purchased in the Club bar can be consumed on site.
In general, the club will be limiting any indoor activities.
