The 2020 LDYC Regatta will take place as usual in the 2nd week of August, from Monday 10th through Friday 14th.

The main regatta will be restricted to Shannon One Designs and Squibs to facilitate the necessary social distancing requirements.

All are welcome, subject to a maximum attendance of 200 people (to include officials), and priority will be given to competitors and their immediate family members. Some limited social events, and the LDYC traditional teas, will take place - see the Regatta Programme and Notice of Race for details.

With COVID-19 Restrictions remaining in force (Phase 3) we plan to run the event in full compliance with Government and Irish Sailing Guidelines now in effect but we may see further relaxation in restrictions depending on Government announcement due on or before Monday, August 10th.

"LDYC hosted the 2019 Webb Regatta for Shannon One Designs and Squibs over the weekend of June 1-2. A rigging and tuning session for SODs was run by reigning LDYC Champion Frank Guy on Saturday morning, which was warmly received by sailors. Two Windward Leeward races opened the Regatta. After lunch a further four races were run by the O’Driscoll Family in 10 knots of Southerly breeze within Dromineer Bay. Traditional post racing tea and scones were demolished by hungry sailors ahead of the BBQ. Sunday’s forecast of winds in excess of 30 knots arrived, resulting in sailing being cancelled followed by an early prize giving. Sailor enthusiasm finished strong ahead of the next LDYC Regatta for SODs, the Goose Island Regatta."
