LDYC welcomes new members at any time, our current rates are as follows:

Application Process 

1. Please click the JOIN button at the top right-hand corner of the website. Lough Derg Yacht Club 

2. Complete and submit the initial application form as directed. 

3. Once submitted, the Membership Secretary will contact you and provide a link to the full membership application form. This form may be completed online or printed and returned either by email or by post to the club. 

4. After receipt of the completed membership form, the Membership Secretary will contact the individuals you have nominated as Proposer and Seconder. 

Election Process 

The election process takes place in two stages: Mentioning and Election. Committee meetings are held once a month, and the full process takes just over one month. 

Once you have been mentioned, your name, along with those of your proposer and seconder, will be circulated to the club membership by email and displayed on the club notice board. Following receipt of your application, a committee member may also contact you for an informal chat. 

Getting to Know the Club 

If you are new to the club and do not yet have any existing contacts, please feel free to visit the club or contact one of our committee members (link). Our members will be delighted to introduce you to the club and its activities.

Mooring Fees


Storage Fees

  • Storage of cruiser trailers or cradles on Club premises during the sailing season 200
  • Storage of dinghy/Squib road trailers on Club premises during the sailing season 100
  • Storage of boats on Club premises other than sailing and lake fishing boats under 6.1 meters for the sailing season and not paying an annual mooring licence fee 200
  • Storage of boats on Club premises outside the sailing season and not paying an annual mooring licence fee 400.
